Mile Results from Week # 1 of the Whites Woods Cross-Country Summer Series in Litchfield are posted. 7/2/09 The Photos from the Lake Compounce 5K and 10K are complete. 6/28/09 It was Richard Klauber all the way at the 2nd Annual Harwinton 5K. A record crowd took on a challenging course and proved the victor. Jerry Biancucci (2nd in his age-group) is the race director. He's assembled a fine group of sponsors, volunteers, spectators, and runners. All for a good cause: to help raise funds for the Harwinton Sports Complex in the memory of his son Nick. thank you to all involved. The results from the 2nd Annual Harwinton 5K are posted. A couple photos soon. 6/27/09 Peter Doly established a swim record, a bike record, and an overall course record. Meanwhile Amanda Braveman and Lisa Dunn battled neck and neck with Dunn pulling away over the 4-mile run. Braveman did establish Swim and Bike records. The results for the 1st Annual Sharon Sprint Triathlon from Mudge Pond are posted. Photos during the week. 6/26/09 The Sharon Triathlon is scheduled for 8:00 AM tomorrow morning. Photos from the Derby Dash 5K are complete. 6/21/09 Happy Father's Day! Michael Rafferty sets a new 5K Course record at Lake Compounce. Results from the Lake Compounce 5K and 10K races are posted. Look for photos during the week. 6/20/09 For a first year event; Race Director, Arthur Gerkens and the St. Mary-St. Michael school delivered more than promissed. A fantastic venue, a beautiful course along the Naugatuck River Greenway, great t-shirts, and a race-day increase in age-group categories for awards. That's Jay Wilson next to the Derby Duck (Jay is #18). Jay was second overall today. The duck might have interferred with Jay's start. Sara Zuba (#40 in the Hartford Track Club Singlet) lead the women and established the women's course record. A great race! Thank you to the sponsors, the many volunteers, the spectators, and the City of Derby for a fantastic event. Results for the 1st Annual Derby Dash 5K are posted. Photos will be up in a few days. 6/19/09 Photos from the Hartford Track Club's Solstice Sprint 5K are complete. 6/18/09 Photos from the Brookfield 5-Miler are complete. 6/17/09 Happy Summer! Nathan Bussiere (#13) was all by himself as he passed through 2 miles in 10:49. Bussiere ran the third mile in 5:04 and set a new course record. Gareth Bye (HTC singlet/hand on watch) ran a strong race to finish first for the masters. Take a look at the little guy in yellow up front. That's 12 year-old, Trevor Chambers, who ran a 6:32 pace over a moderately challenging certified 5K course at the MDC Reservoir in West Hartford. Thanks to the Hartford Track Club and to the many sponsors, volunteers, spectators, and runners. And thank you to the MDC for allowing us the use of such a wonderful facility. Thank you to the Connecticut Race Walkers. They coverd the course in fine fashion with some very fast times from some international caliber race walkers. Hey that's David Reik (visor waiving with the Seiko) at the start. Reik is one of the authors for the USATF's Road Running Technical Council's manual on Course Certification. The Course Certfication Manual is used around the world as a bible on how to layout and measure a course to exacting standards. He has a wealth of knowledge and expertise on the entire sport of running especially in Connecticut where he has run several elite times. Results for the 4th Annual Solstice Sprint 5K are posted. Photos will be up in about a week. 6/15/09 The photos from the Brookfield Parkinson's 5K are complete. The race application for the Derby Dash 5K is available. The race application for the Harwinton 5K is available. 6/14/09 Joe McElhoney (#37) started out fairly easy with a 5:25 first mile. The twenty-three year-old from Beacon, NY had only one other runner hanging close as he passed through two miles with a 5:35. Forty-eight year-old, Peter Lofink (#46), fresh from his 5K victory a week ago, maintained contact with McElhoney as he put down a 5:20 for his third mile. Once he knew the competition and was all warmed up, McElhoney shifted gears in the fourth mile with a 5:15 and had a solid kick with a 5:07 final mile. Yes, McElhoney set a course/race record. That's Sara Belles (#21) in the front row. Belles proved that her strong showing at the Sharon 5-Miler about a month ago was no fluke. Belles finished 6th overall in today's race and established a new women's record. Congratulations to all the runners and walkers in today's event. Thank you to the sponsors, the volunteers, the people of Brookfield, the spectators, and the Brookfield Lions Club. This newly certified 5-Mile course is fast. This is a great course for anyone to target a 5-Mile personal best. The results for the 3rd Annual Strides to Cure Diabetes 5-Miler in Brookfield are posted. Photos will be up during the week. 6/12/09 Photos from Hamilton Sundstrand are complete. The Race application for the 10th Annual People's Forest 7-Mile Trail race scheduled for Saturday, August 1st, is posted. The People's Forest Trail race is also on the New England Grand Tree Series and it's the USATF/CT State Championship for teams and individuals. Download an application. 6/7/09 Peter Lofink smashes course record. Lindsay Millar leads the women. Lori Tunmer and Diane Miller duke it out in the power walk. Results from the 3rd Annual Brookfield Parkinson's 3-Mile Run and 2-Mile Walk are posted. Photos in a few days. 6/4/09 2000; that's when Joe Anastasio won the race, since then, it's been Joshua Adams (#1), and Glen Sitler (#5) and Greg Quinn (#4) have been on Adams tail every year. For Adams, that's eight years in a row. It was Renee Anthony (#25) Leading the women. A great race for a great cause. Thank you to all the volunteers, the sponsors, the Machinist Union Local 743, Hamilton Sundstrand, the spectators, and the runners. Results for the Hamilton Sundstrand 5K Run for the United Way are posted. Photos will be up in a few days. 6/1/09 Results from the 1st Annual Race to Rescue 5K Cross-Country at Northwest Park in Windsor, CT , are posted. 5/31/09 The USATF/CT will hold the Connecticut State Championship Outdoor Track Meet at SCSU on Saturday, June 20th. The USATF/CT Junior Olympic Track Meet will be the same day at the same place...For more information click here

5/24/09 '03=Robaczynski, '04=Adams,'05=Adams,'06=Green,'07=Robaczynski(CR),'08=Adams, and '09=Robaczynski with Adams 2nd. The Results for the 8th Race Around the Lake 3.5 Mile Run Around West Hill Pond in New Hartford, are posted. Marc Robaczynski missed record by 2 seconds... Kyle Sousa won the Lake Compounce 10K with a new course record while Jeffrey Wadecki was second, he was the first USATF/CT runner only seconds behind. Wadecki is the 2009 State of Connecticut 10K Road Champion! Maureen Terwilliger took it out hard and never looked back as the 41-year old master dominated the women to become the 2009 State of Connecticut Women's 10K Champion. Congratulations to all who ran the 10K State Championship and to all those who ran in the record setting pace of the 5K. Results from the Trisport Media Lake Compounce 5K and 10K are posted.
