The USATF/CT Junior Olympic XC results are posted.

Photos from the Age Before Beauty 5k Cross-Country Race are posted. This was race #2 in the USATF/CT XC Grand Prix. The third and final race in the USATF/Connecticut Cross-Country Grand Prix Series is this Saturday at 10:00 AM in West Hartford. Download an app. The race is open to everyone. After two races the series stands at:

Open Men

Mohegan Striders 1 + 1 = 2

Athletes Foot/New Balance 0 + 2 = 2

Hartford Track Club 0 + 1.5 = 1.5

Master Men

Mohegan 1 + 1 = 2

Athletes Foot/New Balance 0 + 2 = 2

Hartford Track Club 0 + 1.5 = 1.5

Open Women

Hartford Track Club 0 + 1 = 1

Master Women

Hartford Track Club 0 + 1 = 1

The 2008 USATF/CT Team Championship Title will be decided this Saturday at the Hartford Track Club's 8K Cross-Country Challange. The individual standings show Patrick Swift from the Mohegan Striders as the strong contender for both the Open and Master's 2008 Men's State Champion. While Brittany Heninger from the Woodbridge Running Company looks like a shoe in...for the Open 2008 Women's State Champion, defending master's champion, Cheryl Cunningham from the Hartford Track Club might have a shot at a repeat for 2008. The big question is, what shirt will Way Hedding be wearing for this Grand Finale?

11/16/08

Cross-Country Season is in full gear. There's one more USATF/CT XC Grand Prix event.

The Athletes Foot/New Balance Team edges the Hartford Track Club in both the open and masters men team competition. Despite running 3.5 miles, Brittany Henninger lead the women's race while the Hartford Track Club women took both open and masters team competitions.

Leading the women in a close race was Brittany Heninger over Kathy Lundin. The Mohegan Striders won the open and masters team event. They are taking home the cash. It would appear that Mohegan is preparing to take on all-comers as the Number One Cross-Country Team in Connecticut for 2008. Results from the 7th Annual Sunny Brook Cross-Country 5K are posted.

Luke Meyer (#162) took it out in 4:59 and never looked back. Meyer breaks 13-year old record set by Simon Peter. 2006 Champion, Paul Mwangi, lost sight of Meyer within the first mile. Mwangi breaks 11-year old Master's record to take second place. Third place went to the 2007,05,03,02 Champion, Joe LeMay, who also ran under Dave Dunleavy's master's record.
